    We all know that there is nothing better than soup in winter to keep you warm and hydrated. My favourite thing about soups is that they are super nutrient and super keto friendly.

    If you're on the ketogenic diet, these low carb keto soup recipes will be your go-to food when trying to make something easy, nutrient and tasty.

    Many popular soups are high in carbs due to using very stretchy vegetables like potato. If you're new to following a keto diet, you will be pleased to hear that is quite simple to adjust soup recipes to be low in calories and high in fat.

    1. Keto Broccoli Cheese Soup

    Broccoli cheese soup is one of my top all-time soups, it's so easy to make, low carb and super nutrient. You'll feel like the broccoli counteracts all of that cheese, making it super healthy and creamy.

    Ingredients

    • 4 cups broccoli (cut into florets)
    • 3 1/2 cups chicken broth (or veggie broth)
    • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese (a little extra for topping if you wish)
    • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
    • 1 tbsp minced garlic

    Instructions

    1. In a large pot over medium heat, sauté the garlic for about 1 minute or until fragrant (you can add a little butter if you'd like)
    1. Add the chicken broth, heavy cream and broccoli florets. Bring to a boil, and then reduce the heat to simmer for 10-20 minutes or until the broccoli is tender.
    2. Add the shredded cheese very gradually (1/2 cup at a time) and stir constantly until melted before adding more. Continue until all of the cheese is used up. Be sure to keep the heat at just a simmer and avoid high heat.
    3. ReStore any leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze for a later date.move from the heat once all of the cheese melts, and enjoy immediately.

    2. Low Carb Creamy Tomato Soup

    This rich and creamy tomato soup is a perfect winter dish. At 5 grams net carbs per serving this is really a keto friendly soup and can easly fit into your daily or weekly meal plan.

    Ingredients

    • 5 cups fresh tomato puree (5-7 blended tomatoes)
    • 1 cup chicken broth (or veggie broth)
    • 8 oz cream cheese (cubed)
    • 1/2 stick salted butter
    • 1 tbsp minced garlic
    • 1 bunch basil leaves
    • salt & peper to taste (optional)

    Instructions

    1. In a blender, puree enough tomatoes to equal 5 cups of pureed tomatoes (depending on the size of your tomatoes, this should be 5-7 tomatoes).
    2. In a large pot, add the butter and garlic, and sauté for about 1 minute.
    3. Add the chicken broth, tomato puree and cream cheese. Heat to a simmer and cook until the butter and cream cheese melt. Add seasoning to taste if you'd like (salt, pepper, oregano, a low carb sweetener)-- your preference.
    4. Once everything is hot and mixed well, pour the mixture back into the blender along with your basil. Blend until smooth.
    5. Enjoy immediately, and store any leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days.

    3. Keto Zuppa Toscana

    Perfect for cold nights, this is an Italian favorite, this comforting Zuppa Toscana with bacon, Italian sausage, and spinach also happens to be keto friendly.

    The traditional Zuppa Toscana is made with potatoes, but you will be replacing them with cauliflower

    Ingredients

    • 4 cups cauliflower (cut into small pieces)
    • 4 cups kale (torn into bite-sized pieces)
    • 1 lb spicy sausage
    • 1/2 lb cooked crumbled bacon
    • 2 quarts chicken broth (about 8 cups)
    • 1/2 large onion (diced)
    • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
    • 1 tbsp minced garlic

    Instructions

    1. Cook the sausage on a skillet until brown, and then set aside.
    2. In a large pot, sauté the diced onion until clear, and then add the garlic and cook for one minute.
    3. Add the chicken broth, cauliflower, bacon and sausage to the pot and cook for 15-20 minutes (or until the cauliflower is soft).
    4. Add the heavy cream and kale, and simmer for 5-10 minutes. Feel free to add any optional seasoning at this point (salt, pepper, etc.)
    5. Enjoy immediately, or store in the fridge for up to 5 days.

    4. Easy Keto Chili

    I'm obsessed with this easy low carb keto chili recipes and I think you will be too. This is a quick and easy go-to keto soup recipe if you're low in time or just want to fill your belly.

    Ingredients

    • 1+ lbs ground beef
    • 1 (8oz) can tomato paste
    • 1 large tomato (chopped)
    • 1 large red bell pepper (chopped)
    • 1/2 large onion (chopped)
    • 2 sticks of celery (chopped)
    • 3/4 cup water
    • 1 tsp cumin
    • 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
    • salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste

    Instructions

    1. Brown the meat in a frying pan until half way done (season with salt, pepper and garlic powder).
    2. Add the chopped onions and bell pepper to the pan and continue to cook until the meat is done.
    3. In a large pot, combine the cooked meat, tomato paste, water, onion, bell pepper, celery, tomato and spices.
    4. Bring the mixture to a boil, and then lower the heat to a simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
    5. Serve topped with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, jalapeño or anything else you'd like!

    5. Creamy Keto Pumpkin Soup

    An easy Pumpkin soup recipe that's keto friendly, low carb and super nutrient to add healthy fats to your diet if you're looking for a soup that's convenient.and easy to make.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup pumpkin puree
    • 1 3/4 cup chicken broth (or veggie broth)
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 4 tbsp butter
    • 1 tbsp minced garlic
    • 2 tbsp onion powder
    • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp coriander
    • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

    Instructions

    1. Brown butter in sauce pan over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic, onion powder, cinnamon, coriander and nutmeg.
    2. Stir in the pumpkin puree and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, and then simmer on low for 30-40 minutes.
    3. Add the heavy cream and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
    4. Enjoy immediately, or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
